Saturday August 24, 2013 two days after my birthday. This was the day of my Quinceanera I have been waiting for this day for about 1 year. It was Saturday and I was up at 5am to eat breakfast and to go get my hair and make-up did at my mom’s friend’s salon. After I finished getting my hair and make-up did I had to hustle back home to get my dress, by the time I got home my court and the party bus was waiting for me. I was 30 minutes late to my service at St. Mary’s, I felt so embarrassed because not only did I have my family waiting but I also had the priest waiting. After the service was over my court and I got back on the party bus and \went to Pismo beach to take pictures. When we got to the beach and got off the party bus we had three photographers and one person recording everything. Many people were congratulating me and my main partner because they thought it was a wedding, also many of the people there were taking pictures for the same reason. We then went to go eat and cruised on the bus until it was time to go back to the reception. Three to Four hours went by and there was so much people it was really hard to walk through everyone, we got about twenty minutes to practice our dances, so my court and I decided to do our choreography to get it over with so we can get that out of the way and just have a good time. I remember my mother talking to me before it was time for me to preform, she told me how beautiful I looked, how proud of me she was, and how much she loved me. I also remember my dad tearing up when it was “father daughter dance” he was telling me how amazing my performance was and how much he loved me. The next morning I was so exhausted because I had to get up at 8am because my family had stayed at my house because they had come down from Washington DC. Everyone wanted me to open up gifts but I had to have my mom help me because I had hundreds of presents and envelopes to open and I was really sleeping. The day of my quince was one of the best days I’ve ever had and that I will forever remember. The reason I think this is one of the best days is because this day I got to be myself and that I got to open up and me myself. Also many people had complemented me which made me have confidence about myself till this day.

China's Presentation

Reflection

Before this China unit we did in class I didn't know anything about China. What I think about China now is that it has a very interesting history, knowing how poor they were and all the sacrifices they had to make for their families was very amazing. Now that I know a bit more about China and it's history also where how it's located in East Asia I think I would like to visit China in the future.

What I personally think about the presentation software known as "Prezi" is that it isn't like a normal PowerPoint it has a little kick to it. This software allows the user to share ideas that have been created to make the presentation a lot more interesting. From what I know about Prezi I think it will be very helpful in the future and I would try it somewhere along the road. Working with PowerPoint was easy because, I myself have been using it for a long time I've done just about every presentation with PowerPoint. I don't know a lot about "Easybib" but I liked using it because it provides note taking and research tools that are easy to use and are also very educational. Something I would have done differently for this project is I would have used Perzi  for my presentation a lot more fun and interesting.

My Mother

Reyna is a mother of 5 kids. She has black hair but looks red in the sun, she has light brown eyes. Reyna can be very nice an funny but can also be very serious an strict. She is light skinned an is about 5'5. She lived in a house by Alvin school where her youngest daughter had a rabbit.

Her youngest daughter was about 8 years old when she got her first pet. When Reyna surprised her daughter with this rabbit her daughter automatically fell in love with it. The rabbit had ruby eyes an was named Ruby it was a white rabbit. Everyday when her daughter came home from school she would run inside drop off her pack back an go to the back yard to play with Ruby.

One day when her youngest daughter came home from school she ran in an dropped off her back pack like everyday. She went to the back yard and ruby wasn't in her cage she went inside to ask her mother if she knew where Ruby was and her mom had told her that she had just checked up on her an that she was in the cage. Reyna and her daughter were in the backyard looking everywhere for Ruby but there was no sing of her.

Later that day when Reyna's husband came home he had found the gate open and he said that's how Ruby had escaped. They asked the little girl if she wanted another rabbit but she said no because it wasn't going to be the same anymore. Reyna's daughter hoped would one day come back but never did.

No Safe Heaven

 

In the early days, there was a small town in the middle of no where. There was only one god an everyone obeyed him. He was really cool as long as everyone got along with each other. There was also peace in this small town .

  

One foggy cold day, there was a sound no one had ever heard before. Everyone went outside to see what it was. They were frightened. The sky had turned grey from the smoke from things being burned and destroyed. No one knew what was going on. The god didn't know what to do because this small town was hidden and it had been years, Centuries since someone had seen this town. What the people didn't know was that they were being attacked by human eating monsters, The god wanted to have a meeting to tell everyone to not panic, because he knew everything was going to be ok.

 

 The next morning, no body was prepared for the creatures. Nothing had ever happened that would make the people very scared. Everyone grabbed a weapon including women. They put together a wall of people to block the creatures from trying to get in the town. They waited for the monsters to come close to them so they can start attacking. Once they saw that all the monsters had been killed they searched for more but they were all gone.

 

 Finally, the god was so proud an amazed how everyone reacted to the situation. They stayed together  because they care about there town. They don't want their town to be destroyed so they risked their lives and everything was back to the way it was before. This is why we protect each other today. This is how we came to be.
